FINCO

Field Intelligence NCO. Typically a member of a Special Military Intelligence Unit, deployed in a former Commonwealth nation, during an "Emergency": Kenya, Malaysia, Cyprus, Borneo, Aden etc. The role of the FINCO was to work alongside special branch both to collect intelligence and to act as a conduit for passage of intelligence to and from special branch.

Until their demise, FINCOs were required to attend a course of instruction at the School of Service Intelligence
