Doormen

While the word doorman is synonymous with bouncer, doormen are more usually found at the sort of upper class establishments and hotels that most ARRSEers have only ever seen on TV. Hence the confusion.

As well as security, the job of a doorman includes portering, hailing taxis and, believe it or not, opening doors. Like bouncers all doormen in the UK are required by law to hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority.
