Cuban Missile Crisis

A rather silly stage in the Cold War, when the Russkies decided to sneak some nukes into Cuba.

This would have the added bonus of making sure that the damn things would actually reach the main 48 states, rather than just Alaska (almost like Russia, but the natives speak English and there are five men to every woman) and Hawaii (which the snow-dancers would never have nuked, because it's probably the best postcode that Uncle Spam ever laid claim to).

Luckily, what could have been an almighty scrap was averted by JFK flashing a smile across the water (It's just a shame that he couldn't blind that bloke on the grassy knoll).
