Category talk:British Army
Getting into the is categorisation stuff, I need to do more work but this is more fun...
Anyway, should we move the individual pages under "British Army" into the sub categories of it?

Depends if it is only relevant to specific cats or a general info entry with broader scope. If not sure then make them belong to multiple categories if appropriate.

Tidying Up
Great work guys, I've also been thinking about the categorisation thing and reckon we need to tidy up the dictionary, slang, buzzwords, unit nicknames, etc into something more coherent. Any thoughts? --Bad CO 14:23, 1 Jun 2005 (BST)
Dictionary
Bad CO,
I am currently experimenting with Html formatting for the dictionary. Have come across the <DD> tags, which seems to be the ideal way of sorting out the Dictionary page - but will take me some time to do this...
I will also look at the other pages, but I am concentrating on the dictionary as it is the largest...

An Alternative Approach
Ghostie, As far as I can tell the <dd>, <dl>, <dt> tags just offer another method of formatting but don't allow us to automatically sort pages alphabetically which is what I reckon we need. An alternative option is this: [[Special:Allpages]] which would show all the all the pages on the site thus Special:Allpages. This would involve converting all the current dictionary definitions to pages but I don't think this would take too long and is probably best done sooner rather than later! --Bad CO
Converting the Dictionary entries to pages
So are we suggesting creating pages for all the Dictionary page entries and then categorising them into the Dictionary category and moving the meanings in to the pages?
Presuming this is right we then deleted the Dictionary page and rely on the Dictionary category.......
If so I can make a start....

I'm not suggesting making all the dictionary entires into a dictionary category. In fact everything on this site is part of a dictionary of military speak if you think about it! Rather I'm proposing having a dictionary page with links to A, B, C, D, etc. The links are coded to go to Special:Allpages&from=A, Special:Allpages&fromB, etc. We could also have links that went to slang, buzzwords, etc. A great start would be to make pages for each entry and put them in the appropriate category --Bad CO 16:52, 1 Jun 2005 (BST)
Ok then - shall I make a start?

Never mind I worked it out!!, started to add entries to so they show on the special all pages. Disco
