A conventional, if unspectacular, main battle tank in service with the Italian Army. The Ariete weapons system fires traditional MBT projectiles including illuminating, HE, HEAT and others. It features a computerized fire control system, a fully powered operated turret and laser range finders.
One could make the joke about 1 forward, 9 reverse gears but as we are all one big happy NATO family supporting each other in Afghanistan I wouldn't dare say such a thing ... unless some nations weren't pulling their weight of course!
