Brunei

The Sultanate of Brunei became a British protectorate in 1888, and gained it's independence in 1984. The same family has ruled Brunei for over six centuries. Brunei benefits from extensive petroleum and natural gas fields, the source of one of the highest per capita GDPs in the developing world.
British military units based in Brunei are based in the oil town of Seria and consists of one battalion of Gurkhas in Tucker Lines, Brunei support troops (RLC, QG Sigs, REME) based in Medicina Lines, 7 Flt AAC at the Scout Base and the Jungle Warfare Wing also based in Medicina Lines. Predominantly occupied by Gurkhas.
