Beak

The Beak. Generally the RAF Flight Commander who presides over the day-to-day petty sessions court that tries grubby little airmen for their crimes against God, Nature and the The Queen.

A presiding officer (military) or judge (civilian). To be "up before the beak" can ruin your whole day. At other times it's just a bit strange.
