Battlefield
From ARRSEpedia
An area of countryside, residential or urban sprawl that was a few hours ago quite unremarkable ... but is now littered with the paraphernalia of modern warfare including wanking squaddies of opposing sides.
Other definitions include:
- A location to which apparently the Royal Artillery bring style and tone to what would otherwise be an unseemly brawl.
- That location you spend most of your career training and hoping to visit, and when you get there you immediately want to leave.
Some battlefields exist for a time and then sink into history as a minor event (ie Quatre Bras 1815). Some remain in legend forever (Agincourt 1415) and some are just a pain in the cnut (Battle of the Boyne 1690).
