The BPFA is dead! Long live the PFT!
The Basic Personal Fitness Assessment (BPFA) was the old method that was used to assess the standard of fitness of soldiers and officers in the TA and regular army. It consisted of three parts:
- as many press-ups as you could in 2 minutes
- as many sit-ups in 2 minutes.
- 2.4km run - again best effort.
If there wasn't an opportunity to do the run the Multi-Stage Fitness Test (MSFT) was done instead.
