BMP-2
Ah yes BMP-2...
Distinguishing features are 6 road wheels; or was it 8?
Anyway the Mk2 definitely had the 100mm automatic gun, hang on I think it was BMP-3, perhaps it has a 30mm, but it DID have the Spigot missile mounted on top of the main armament barrel.
It holds loads of Russians in the back, all of whom can fire their weapons through little holes in the side for what I imagine would be pure comedy value.
Now I DO know that they could "swim" but needed a fair bit of prep.
You will most often hear the word "BMP" in this sentence.
"Contact! One times BMP and section of infantry 200m north of my location, am engaging, wait out".
This of course is not true but two Fig 11s and some sandbags just doesn't sound as good on the Net.
Developed from the earlier BMP-1, the BMP-2 replaced the old one-man turret with a two-man affair armed with a 30mm cannon and a Spigot/Spandrel mount. The crew stayed the same at 10, so the dismounts reduced to 7. Although if you've ever seen inside one, fitting 10 blokes in must have been a claustrophobic nightmare.
