3rd Bn The Royal Welsh Regiment

3 R WELSH

The 3rd Battalion, The Royal Welsh is the TA Battalion of the Royal Welsh. It provides soldiers for 1 Royal Welsh and 2 Royal Welsh for training and operations. Also provides decent adventure training opportunities (skiing, rock climbing, summer/winter mountain proficiency) each year if you keep your ear to the ground.

The unit is based in the following locations:

• BHQ and HQ Company - Cardiff

• A Company - Wrexham and Queensferry

• B Company - Swansea and Aberystwyth

• C Company - Pontypridd

• D Company - Colwyn Bay and Caernarfon

• Regimental Band - Newport

• Regimental Goat - Cardiff

Both the Band and Goat provide the major backdrop at all the Wales Home International Rugby matches.

The Battalion have augemented both Battalions on Ops in the last few years. We now have trained Warrior Drivers and Int Staff.
