• High performance 152mm field artillery piece on an open topped tracked chassis. Uses the same ordnance as the towed 2A36.

• Held at Army level, Divisions had the shorter range 152mm SP gun, the 2S3 or the towed D20.

• Not to be confused with the similarly configured but much larger 203mm 2S7.

• All four 152mm pieces will be replaced by the towed 2A65 MSTA-B or tracked SP 2S19 MSTA-S as soon as the Russians can afford it.
