15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars

History
The 15th/19th Hussars were formed in 1922 by the amalgamation of 15th The King's Hussars and 19th Royal Hussars (Queen Alexandra's Own). The regiment received royal patronage in 1933 and the title was duly amended to the 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars. The regiment was mechanised and transferred to the Royal Armoured Corps prior to the outbreak of WW2. A cadre was detached to form 23rd Hussars in 1940.
The regiment was amalgamated with 13th/18th Royal Hussars (Queen Mary's Own) in 1992 to form the Light Dragoons.
