This Regiment is being raised as part of FAS and is located across the UK. No precursor RLC/RCT units with this number have existed in this area. The role of the new Regiment is supply.

159 REGIMENT RLC(V)

The following is subject to confirmation.

RHQ (SQN ?) - Stoke on Trent - Headquarters Squadron.

123 AMMO - Telford, Shropshire - Ammunition Storage and Supply.

125 RATION - Glasgow, Strathclyde - Rations Storage and Supply.

216 BDE SP - Tynemouth, Tyne & Wear - Materiel Storage and Supply.

237 BDE SP - West Bromwich, West Midlands - Materiel Storage and Supply.

The purpose of the Regiment is to provide a Brigade with consumable products, replacement parts and spares items and to maintain accurate accounting.

Oddly, for a Supply Regiment, 159 are unable to receive/issue large amounts of Fuels and Lubricants in both bulk or packed quantities. 124 Petroleum Squadron remains as a part of 151 (Greater London) Transport Regiment. This has lead to constant rumours of the Squadron being attached to 159 in due course. Additionally, supporting these rumours, 124 is located outside of Greater London. Should this change occur, 159 Regiment could have the largest geographical spread of a Regiment in the modern British Army !

124 PET - Warley, Brentwood, Essex - Handling, Testing, Storage and Supply of Fuels & Lubricants: 124 PET (B.Tp) - Maidstone, Kent
