14th/20th King's Hussars

History
The 14th/20th Hussars was formed in 1922 by amalgamation of 14th King's Hussars, and 20th Hussars. The 'King's' prefix was added to the regiment's title in 1936 and the regiment was mechanised and transfered to the Royal Armoured Corps in 1939 prior to the onset of hostilities.
The regiment was amalgamated with the Royal Hussars (Prince of Wales's Own), to form The King's Royal Hussars in 1992.
Nicknames
The 'Manchester Cavalry'.
