I'm amazed that no one ever made a double stack 32 ACP with a full-size frame for the old NPA-type disciplines -- it would count under the rules as centrefire and have practically zero recoil.

Back in Pistol Days I remember shooting a friend's 45ACP Glock back to back with a CZ75. The Glock was much more pleasant to shoot and easier to hit with. I recall shooting the top off the marker pen we were using to mark targets up with - at 20m. He changed to one in .40S&W after he had a stoppage with a 45ACP JHP. Just the one stoppage but he reckoned the .40 was more reliable. Paranoid Pete - where are you now?

The 40 calibre Glock 22 is actually quite pleasant to fire, and I changed my opinion slightly about Glock when I fired one. The 17 is a nasty, whippy thing but the 22 isn't. I rather surprised its American owner by insisting on having a blat with it at 100 yards!

Some years ago I passed on an offer of an Ithaca Roadblocker and have been kicking myself ever since, but if this is constructed with a similar mech layout to the 1100 series it'll be even better.

    Four bore !
Last time I saw one of those it was a side-by-side and rifled !
I wonder how fast they reckon the mag can be emptied into a headbox ?

    Love the writeup...

"The shotgun is multicharged, with a tubular underbarrel magazine of 3-cartridge capacity. Reloading is provided with a removable fore-end. The presence of the special barrel rear projection on the frame combined with the rear sight gives the possibility of mounting an optical sight. The shotgun is intended for the amateur hunting with shot cartridges. "

    1. I doubt if anyone would still have the will to keep firing after the second shot..
    2. Optical Sights... are we seriously considering launching slugs out of this beast - even balls are going to be 1/4 lb each (by definition...)
    3. What do we use for hunting professionals I wonder? (or are only amateurs stupid enough to use a 4 bore from the shoulder.

Seriously, even with a recoil mech, this is going to be brutal. Most 4 bores are punt guns..

The 4 bore, obviously for knocking down power, person, door, wall, house and anything unlucky enough to be either in front of or behind the firer!
