    Vanguard tailored webbing

Just looked on KitMonsters' site and seen that he is selling a complete rig based on the Vanguard All Arms Beltkit. He and InTheVan obviously have too much integrity to self-promote in a forum they moderate/sponsor, so I'll do it for them.

The base is the All Arms Beltkit, available with 3 or 4 utility pouches. There is space on each side to attach double ammo, Minimi or extra utility pouches. The utility pouches have snow shrouds, with bayonet scabbard fixings on left most pouch. There are attachment points for resi pouches, drop leg pouches and old school poncho/CBRN kit rolls. The fastex belt buckle can be replaced with a roll-pin buckle. Price is £79.

The set includes a PLCE yoke, 2 Vanguard velcro fastening double ammo pouches and an All Arms Beltkit. The pice for the set is £125.

Note to Kitmonster and InTheVan: That'll be £50 each, please :D

Looks very well designed, but it would be a pain in the arrse if you get it and find that both ends of the hip pad meet around your waist, or that it hangs off your backside. Frankly, £79 to £125 is a lot to pay for a better-designed version of PLCE, most of which is free, and many of their mods can be mdade yourself (poncho roll loops etc). Might be worth it though- never tried it so can't say.

(Although if KM's offering free trials, I'd be happy to volunteer and post some feedback... :D )

I doubt the size would be a problem, unless you're ultra skinny. Vanguard have been in the business for more than a decade, and design kit based on soldiers needs, not what looks good. I'm sure InTheVan or Kitmonster could give a concrete answer about sizing if you ask.

As for the price, this can compete with the likes of Dragon, Troopers and Jay Jays, and there's been plenty of interest in their products. The advantage of this kit is that it's available off the shelf, made with Mil-Spec materials and can still be changed to suit your role, whether that rifleman, commander, gunner etc.

Yes, PLCE is free, but if you are going to buy custom webbing, this option is worth considering. Especially when you consider that the retailer and manufacterer spend time in this forum.

Got it. Thank you to Stokey and Bruce Willis. To those also struggling to see Stokey's pearls of wisdom; log out of your account and take another look. It worked for me, although they disappeared from view as soon as I logged back in!

Seems as most places are doing "custom" webbing now, was in john bulls the other week even selling it in there now. No way as good quality as troopers/ jay jays!

Are you saying John Bulls' kit isn't as good as Troopers/Jay Jays, or nothing is as good? If you mean the latter, then I would disagree. Vanguard is the old Wyvern brand, and has always had a good reputation. They supply quite a few of the items sold by SASS, who also have a long standing reputation for quality.

    Re: Vanguard tailored webbing

Time to clear up a few issues I think.

Firstly my thanks to Stokey for the publicity, if you're an account holder with us let me know and we'll show our gratitude on your next order. If not PM me if you need anything; it will be discounted!

Points about Vanguard's All Arms Belt Kit. Why use it instead of PLCE? 3 words: comfort, stability and weight.

It is without doubt the most comfortable belt rig we've seen. Being a single unit it's more stable and the complete set weighs just 2lb, while a comparable set of PLCE weighs 5lb. Unusually for such a set it is adaptable. Other sets of Hip Pad/Airborne Webbing (call it what you will) are sewn together completely, if you change roles (IE rifle to GPMG) you can't change your belt order. With this one you can. Vanguard's design has been in production for at least 3 years now and their experience shows.

Everyone's doing custom webbing now? Mainly because it works! Also the original manufacturer for Dragon are now offering it to any retailer wishing to buy it. I hear that Dragon don't like that, but it was hardly an original design was it?

Personally I choose not to stock that particular set as I have reservations about it.

As for comparing with Tropers/Jay Jays, I think Vanguard's kit will stand up to any comparison anyone wishes to make. As Stokey observes Vanguard have been around a good 10 years plus and the owner takes his work very seriously. He considers it a responsibility to provide quality kit, this attitude has greatly influenced our choices at ukkitmonster and encoraged us to stand by our principles. It's just a shame his kit hasn't caught imaginations here the way some has.

Any more questions I'll be glad to answer them here or through the website. www.ukkitmonster.com

    Thanks for the interest, Dom

It's the Anti Troll/O2 cloaking device. You need to go into your account options & set preferences, although not many have that facility.
It was introduced by the bosses after the Chubbs/TLF wars last year.

    Kit_Monster,

I'd seen that you'd been getting some good press on here so I decided to buy some kit off your site (not webbing, just some zinc tape and a crusader mug). But my card was knocked back, because you do not except cards beginning with 5520. It was excepted at RV OPs and Jay Jays.
    Any reason.

Still never got the tape, but once I stop buying I cant stop.

    Cheers

Bruce, I'm very sorry to learn you had difficulties with our site. I have suspected there were some problems with certain cards from some recent calls we've had. If you have difficulties online we do have some trained humans available to answer the telephone so do please call 01892 538364 between 10.00am and 5.00pm . I know it negates the ease of ordering online but if we don't know we can't fix it!

We accept most cards our web designer just doesn't seem to agree with us! Any chance of taking time out from shooting bad guys and having a word with him? That Beretta 92 of yours is very persuasive....
