“It’s SHITE being Scottish! We’re the lowest of the low. The scum of the fucking Earth! The most wretched, miserable, servile, pathetic trash that was ever shat into civilization. Some people hate the English. I don’t. They’re just wankers. We, on the other hand, are COLONIZED by wankers. Can’t even find a decent culture to be colonized BY. We’re ruled by effete assholes.

I'm aware on the sops for weapon carriage during jumps - but jumping into an ex, with or without a weapon, is no way as close to ally as the Rhodesian photos from early on.
I am preparing my impromtu remarks

Now, if you want ally Rhodeisan parachutie piccies - you need to find some of their (IIRC) "Fire Force"
Acting as an as an airborne QRF, they'd jump at 500ft (mebbe less) from DC-3s, , froming an instant line of cut-offs behind rebels already in contact with infantry on the ground. They'd literally hit the ground, ditch their harness and start shooting.
Saw it in a TV documentary waay back in the 70s

Anyone running with an A41 deserves respect!
And look at those rifles! Reckon they'd be war winners!
And proper bayonets - no need for UORs in those days.Anyone who likes jackboots is mercifully free of the ravages of intelligence.

(At least the dog was paying attention to the briefing - note the extended position of its front legs. It might have a few words to say about where the draft is going, though)
