to be honest, I couldn't tell the difference anyway, bonnie lad!!
Compare it with JJH's - he's got what looks like a proper one (and fitted the right way round).
"Hurrah for the Works Group" just doesn't have the same ring...

"A volunteer is worth ten pressed men."
So, a TA battalion or nine Regular Guards battalions? Not a difficult choice, then (especially as we don't have nine Regular Guards battalions).

As soon as I looked at this "photo", something seemed wrong to me.
Zoom in to where the magazine goes in to the housing. photo-shopped.
Sub-scale airsoft rather than real thing maybe?
    Yep

I win all my matches in the US using an airsoft.

Here it is with an imaginary Zeiss scope on an imaginary railed top cover too:

It's not ex-British Army, though, is it? The only time that I've seen the double-leaf rear sight was on a cutaway FN.

    edited to add:

Just found this thread: "Hythe" sight for the SLR?

...but I'm still not totally convinced that it was on general issue.

It's all original bar the receiver (& 922(R) compliant parts of course....).
I have the dead tritium front post sitting around waiting for me to dig out the old vial & stick in a new one.
They were never particularly common but came in three versions.

We seemed to have come to an arrsse concensus that there was a Bn allocation and they ended up being fitted to shooting team rifle usually. I have yet to see the front sight in the flesh rather than on an old B&W "Fighting Patrol" training film!
