USMC Cannon cockers get 22 mile arty kill
"A democracy cannot survive as a permanent form of government. It can last only until its citizens discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority (who vote) will vote for those candidates promising the greatest benefits from the public purse, with the result that a democracy will always collapse from loose fiscal policies, always followed by a dictatorship." Lord Thomas MacCauley 1857

"Golf Battery, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines, out of Camp Pendleton, Calif., dropped the 155mm M982 Excalibur round on insurgents 36 kilometers away — more than 22 miles"
Sounds like things are going downhill in California?
Sorry, I couldn't resist...

Nice. What's the flight time for one of those rounds at that distance I wonder? You'd have to be sure your target wasn't going to get up and walk away once you'd called it in!
‘Once we were overpopulated. And we found that the more people there were, the more they were the same.
It was the only way we could survive. People had always dreamed of a unified world. We thought it would be a richer one. It wasn’t.
It meant that the Eskimo got educated and learned cost accountancy, but it didn’t mean the German learned to hunt whales with a spear.
It meant that everyone learned how to press buttons, but no one remembered how to dive for pearls.’

Will NGS slowly be phased out within a generation or two.

The round is GPS guided and it can track armour an.d change it's course, probably not for terry but perhaps they called in the rounds once thet set up for the night.
For me one of the most amazing things is that the on board electronics survive something like 12000 g forces on firing and to fu2 they are capable of tracking and avoiding blue on blue, so long as you know where they are?!I’ve heard that fact, that is you eat more than 6 bananas it will kill you.
I saw a bowl with 7 bananas in it, and i thought, that’s dangerous.

Thats an amazing gun, JJH - who makes it?
Bravo Bravo sets himself a depressingly low standard which he consistently fails to achieve.
