I am not sure why you seem to be getting your knickers in a twist about kit. Did you not get issued with one of these??? All the AI's up here have one.

That seems quite reasonable, seeing as it dosnt roll just folds on its self would it take up too much space in/on ur Bergan ect ?? but for £11 i would buy it anyway always come in handy and germans normally get gucci kit as standard.

Don't. They are shite. The folding kip mats that is.

My ex lass used to come camping with me & used these. Crap.

As others here, i have a Softie 9. Had it for nearly 10 years now & was comfy in it one Jan at -7 in N Wales. I have a full lengthe thermarest & can't the see the packing away problem. Mine packs to a 6" dia roll in its stuff sack within a cpl of mins. I never let it self inflate, don't think they do. Gets blown up, then when i'm packing away, undo the valve & begin rolling it from the bottom end forcing all the air out. CLose the valve, pack into the stuff sack & job jobbed. Easy peasy.

What he said!! If in a hurry just roll up like a normal mat (ie, dont fold it into quarters before rolling), just un plug the stopper and roll from the bottom just like a normal foam mat.

Rolls tighter than a foam mat and being "floppy" it sort of wraps across the top of a Bergen easier and does not stick out. When you have a bit of quite time, just re roll properly.

Ok, you've convinced me - a therma rest type mat it is. Wish the one I'd bought some time ago wasn't orange!

You lot are costing me money!
