They don't parade with them in scarlets either....
That's not completely true. As a general rule it applies but I know of quite a few instances where R Sigs blokes have dressed up in scarlets and bearskins for guards' ceremonies.
As part of the Guards?
Do tell more!!!!!!!!!!
I can't give you a list of timestamped examples, but I worked in 'town' for a while and it happened a few times. Normally for standing still duties like route lining and posing near historic buildings.
If you are really, really observant, you will see a couple every year at trooping the colour and the sovereign's birthday.

Army Air Corps - light blue beret.
Cdo Log Regt (but not Cdo trained) - Green beret
At Hereford - sand beret but REME stable belt.
A Green beret but not Cdo trained.... when was that?

1972 - was ordered to so that it wouldnt show up that about 10 of us were posted in to fill vacancies in the workshop due to the lack of cdo trained REME/RE at that time. soon got posted out when we didnt volunteer for the AA Cdo course

Sorry, it was funny at the time, I don't know where the hell that beret came from but it was bloody massive.
I thought any attached arms wore their Corps stable belt with a winged dagger buckle.
Me too.
Definately blue in colour chaps, I was only 50m or so away from him, I'm not mistaken, maybe that's why he was told to take it straight off, who knows?

Its just suddenly dawned on me (I'm bored), does this rule only apply when attached to teeth arms? Otherwise clerks would never get to wear their green beret outside of their training depot.
A couple of booties get attached (permanent positions)to loggies regiments in Gutersloh and the jack bastards never wear the RLC beret.

Over 10 years ago, when I was a Training Major, a sizeable chunk of my TA unit were females, enlisted into and badged as Fusiliers. They drove or operated comms kit mostly, and we were very pleased to have them on the nominal roll.

This is a blatant lie, Airborne may allow you to wear Maroon however not a Commando Unit.
You said you where in Commando Logs ????? Did they have RE in Logs in 1972? Dont you mean 59 (if 59 was called 59 in 72??)
Re: what non infantry trades wear infantry head dress?
Cdo Logs as a Regt was formed between July 1971 and January 1972, as a new entity I can see non Cdo trained personnel turning up, I can also see the uninitiated handing out green lids so their Sqn would "fit in".
Our bandies weren't even allowed to wear the green lid because they hadn't done the course, the only time I've ever seen Perce wearing a green lid without doing the AACC was in NI when another units COP came down to our area to play for a while, I do believe one of them posts quite regularly on Arrse....
