does it have to be expensive? Not all ally gear is exspensive, just make it an ally clothing/gear thread?? Folk can post up pictures and give either a review or an opinion about it? Unless its been done all ready? I'll shut up if it has!
80's pattern green bungee (issued to attach chinese fighting suit and waterproofs to god-awful 58 pack): absolutely brill for holding your kex up, and easier to get out of when you need, really need, to "ease springs"
ALWAYS look overseas for Gucci Gear! You might get stung for import, but then again you might not. I get a hell of a lot of stuff from the US and I only pay extra about a third of the time!

Well said. I was after a TRX Force trainer, I looked online at the price from the UK agent and yes you guessed it... £170!!!!! http://www.trxfitness.co.uk/products...force-kit.html
I shopped around and found a place in the USA who could deliver it to the UK a full £100 cheaper at £70...... a great bit of kit but no way was I going to pay the full price for it.
I've stocked up on some karrimor gear for (civi) hikes etc ...are their rucksacks reliable? I've bought a 65 litre Cougar off line for about £25! (I thought I was getting a heavy-drinking MILF but hey ho nevermind) and I used a kind of 'bum bag' thing which holds water and other essentials on a trip recently but that began to fall apart at the seams (just about repairable)
I've got a karrimor Gore-Tex jacket and that's pretty good.
