What, an OICW? Lucky you! Seriously, did the Poms issue M9's? The Aussie issue's blade breaks off when used as a bayonet, because of the partial tang; it can't be used as a field knife because the blade won't hold an edge; it's bulky, heavy and expensive to L&D when it falls silently off your webbing after the frog buckle releases itself.
No batteries required - no wonder the British Army didn't want it. I can hardly remember a time when half your Bergen's weight wasn't made up of spare batteries for this, that, the other (and yr Walkman/iPod depending on your age, naturally)
I tell you what, Modern Warfare 2 makes the LSW look like the ultimate machinegun of mass death! Its otherwise semi realistic in its portrayal of other weapons systems but fuck me if I didnt fire 150 rounds out of a 30 round mag.
Not much to say except the only stoppages I've had in three years have been with an LSW. I dont rate them.
Sanguis, that's cos they've put a drum mag on the MW2 'LSW'.
It certainly looks like a thirty round mag. Leaving aside for the moment that it would be difficult/impossible to use a drum mag with SA80 series weapons.
