I'd still suggest RDG. The Skins had a fair bit of recruitment from the Liverpool area & Home Headquarters was in Chester Castle.

IIRC we had an affiliated ACF & the little Tykes used to make off with anything not bolted down, although WTF they would do with sets of obturation rings & HTF then managed to make off with entire Chieftain sized cam nets is beyond me.

Looking at the collar dogs, they appear to be roses, like those of the Royal Mercian and Lancastrian Yeomanry, so that's my guess.
There is no 'I' in 'Team', but there are four in 'Platitudinous Imbecile'

It's the RDG dress rig - the bloke on the left that is. The other is RM.
    Fred Astaire ate my hamper!

If they should once obtain a connivance, they will press for a toleration, from thence to an equality, from an equality to a superiority, from a superiority to an extirpation of all contrary religions. John Pym 1584-1643.

I reserve the right to say what the fcuk I like. The serried ranks of headstones in Flanders, Normandy and elsewhere give me that right.

There are clear and obvious signs that this is NOT RDG rig.

The trousers shown are clearly Dark Blue and not the Green worn by the RDG. Also the yellow stripe on the outside of the trouser is too yellow. The RDG stripe is a paler yellow known as Primrose Yellow (not as bright a yellow as the 4/7 wore and not as pale a colour as the Skins wore).

The badges on the collar, the helmet and the belt are NOT as worn by the RDG.

I felt sure that Capt Plume would have spotted this

In my defence I was looking at a small picture on a not very good monitor while at work! I did wonder about the overalls it must be said, and know (as I said in my original post ) that the Skins' trouser-stripe was primrose...
