dont slap yourself around (unless you enjoy it) I'm with the missus but could do without my dear old mum moaning about the heat, Dad getting colonial on the bar staff etc. My sister and brother would be alright - just be a surprise.

    I frequented Sharm in the mid-late 90's.
was always for diving on liveaboards though.
From what I can remember from our couple of nights ashore it was quite pricey, noisy and smelly- good taste of the middle east!
I wouldnt be too paranoid though, even back then there were plenty of 'tourist police' knocking about.

Damn hot in the summer though, quite nice at easter

I went to Sharm in march/april 07 with the sprog and her.
We went to the Melia Sinai(just up the road from the Baron) reccomend it, I'd go again in a shot.

The airport is well......couldnt be better organised if it were run by drunk 6y/o's.
If you arent planning to leave Nama bay dont get a visa(no need) unless you visit Ras Mohammed. Visas were only 10pound the cues are mental, the screens letting you know which terminal the baggage is comming out of work if you want to know last weeks flight.
If you get a taxi to the hotel it will be £20 irrelevant of the distance.
    Baggage trolley £
    Arsewipe paper £
Coming back in to the terminal from having a smoke £ (security guards fiddle).
Think arab faulty towers controlling an airport with reps pushing thier clients to the front causing huge rows.

Felt totally safe except for the driving standards.

I went last year, all inclusive. My only advice would be stay in a 5 star hotel but dont expect English standards. Russians wont even acknowledge you are on this planet. Also, check what is included in the all inclusive - it frequently isn't as you would imagine.

Sharm el Sheikh is very rich in history and culture and nowadays also offers all the luxury and qualities you would expect from a world class tourist destination.
Most of the restaurants feature in hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, and there are very few eating houses other than those, but you can find a lot of variety in these resort restaurants anyway. You are offered a broad range of Egyptian, Italian, French, Japanese, Korean and Chinese cuisines. You can also find outlets of popular fast food chains in Sharm El Sheikh as well.

I'd agree but don't expect to see very much of it unless you go on trips to specific places like Mnt Sinai and do trips with the Bedouin (which are a bit mixed.) It is astounding however to be close to Sinai and know of its place in The Bible and so on.

I'd probably agree with the second point above more readily! For that region.

I stayed near Mt.Sinai was desolate, not even a tree or a blade of grass. I'd never go back felt like a prisoner there was nowhere to go.

    she said history not topiary!

its a desert Jarrod! (Desert = glorified dehydrated building site) Nothing to stop u getting on a horse and plodding around until you die a slow death. I know what you mean. My imagination was working over-time working out if I could survive for months out there. stick to swimming in the sea.
