Don't forget The Harp, Chandos Place just off Trafalgar Square.

ARRSE - Not as funny as it used to be since 2003.

Assume you're a regular at the Antelope on Eaton Terrace then?!

Yes to the Big Easy. Very good food indeed that will leave you feeling more than satisfied.

If you can get a Toptable deal for it, the Bluebird can be good. Just don't, whatever you do, pay full whack!

The Cadogan is ok but has been heavily modernised which means it has lost some of its charm to me.

I haven't eaten there myself but had very good reports about Byron, a burger type place just across the road from the Cadogan.

The last time I was in the Botanist, it was full of the same sort of people you're likely to find in Boujis so I haven't been back. However this might have changed since it has been open.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather, to skid in sideways, Champagne in one hand - chocolate covered strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'Woohoo - What a Ride!

    Re: Days Out in London

Well this is all cracking info. Gentlemen of distinction I can see.
I was beginning to curse Johnson as I was indeed beginning to tire of London a little and this has added some gusto.

Plan of action - all booked up so far :

Hotel : Waldorf Hilton (got a reasonable price which includes b'fast) ....(£140 to be vulgar and talk prices.)
Pre-lunch drinks : undecided as yet
Lunch: Blue Elephant Thai Fulham B'way £25 a head each Sunday buffet (hand made starters etc, deco is like a jungle in there - fantastic)
Later in the day will probably be Kings Rd area - will follow up on your recommendations - thanks
(Am also interested in the River Dinner/drinking/dancing idea)
Next day : Early rise b'fast and use the pool etc in Waldorf
Lunch: Tea at Ritz (possible rip-off at £38 pp but needs to be done as she is very keen. I used to work nearly opposite on Bolton St when an urchin and never even been in as yet.)
Plans open for now for rest of 2nd day.
    then Endex

Looking fairly solid structure so far. Taking champagne and ingredients for Rusty Nails (drink! ) for the room.
Just need to fill in the blanks now - which bar for drinks the first day near the hotel and/or near Fulham Broadway. Then plan the Kings Rd phase and possible water-borne assault up the Thames (Ilove the river boats of all types) and how best to fill a few hours after The Ritz.

    details...details....

Oh.......... and check the tube schedules. One of the perks of London Olympics is that certain tube lines are closed down most week-ends these days for 'repairs'. How the touristas handle it goodness knows. Enjoy your break. The Blue Elephant in Fulham?.... oh dear.....................

Try the Connaught Hotel bar for evening drinks - very jazz now they've redecorated

    Not seen.

    I will check it out!

Tried to do a top table deal at Bluebird recently but they had double booked and cancelled my table. They have offered me a discount next time so I will check it out when time permits.
One cannot begin to fathom the immensity of the fuck I do not give.
