    Nah, they've just got toys.
Apparently some moderators take themselves very, very seriously, and cannot abide posts such as:
"If however you offer to moderate you may be a sanctimonious, unfunny pissflap to your heart's content."

Some comments are allegedly "very very nasty and uncalled for."

These "Toys" are more powerful than the toys were allowed to use over here and they will be full weight full metal replicas, thats not to say that they cant be found and used by the military for training, they run in at around the £700 mark, personally I think for FIBUA the basic Airsoft gun would do and you dont have to wear all the body armour, you would still know when you've been hit. an AEG starts at about £150 while a full metal pistol around £100 and plastic from about £50.
We sell 'em in the shop! :D

Alpha 55, I was comparing these paintball jobbies to using an issue wpn with Simunition.
The ones on that site may well be weighted and feel like the real ones, but they operate differently & drills will be different too.
If these blokes are using them for hours of serious trg, how will they react when they have a stoppage or mag change for real ?

Not decrying the paintball or airsoft games in any way, just they're not my cuppa.

As a tool for teamwork they're top notch though, I think thats the main purpose of them...

The main point is to train for reaction under fire, yes it is simulated but there are still bits flying at you and you automatically react differently to when you know that there's nothing, such as when you are up against wpns with BFA's, it should be looked at as an extention of training, not as something to replace the training already adopted.

Re: Airsoft - Military games or serious training aid

Airsoft does have its uses as a training aid. If done properly airsoft or Milsim as we play it can help train you in field and cqb combat. I am a co-founder of such a team. We play the game as a milsim unit. We rent our own 50 acre field and use it to patrol, recce, map read, build shelter, practice concealment and contact drills and have our own target range. We even do overnighters where we perform stag duties and assualts and early morning raids etc. We have trained with ex-sas members (legendary Jon Mac from the iranian embassey seige) and are looking for new members to join us on our visits to places such as alpha 55, Stirling Services and Alpha Omega to name a few.

You can take the mickey all you like but the lads enjoy it, its keeps us fit and gives us somet to do.

if any one lives in Lancashire and fancies a go, drop me a line. Web address is below

TBH I've airsofted before.........and its much better than paintball.

as long as the company is good (not all airsofters are walts) then its all gravy. I'd say give it a go, but then i live in the arrse end of wales, 2hrs from the nearest site.
