Well i passed RSC-came back home to an unsupportive family and girlfriend. The girlfriend who i was basically living with at the time decided she didnt want to be a soldiers wife/other half (even though while i went through all the selection process she was right behind me) and my old man was very anti-army even though he said nothing about it during my application (but then again didnt show any intererst either).if the AFCO rang up with details or info for me he wouldnt say they had called or if mail arived he wouldnt pass it on (you can tell when a letters from the MOD cant you)
TBH if i could have gone back in time i would have said F U to the bint and F U to my old man as well a lot earlier
Re-applied as a single lad this time-no distractions!
Ah that's a pain, well good luck I doubt you will need it. I havent had the bird problem, and my old dear only worries that I won't enjoy it when i'm in there. But...discipline doesnt really bother me so I think I'll be alright, camaraderie and meeting new people/going places etc sounds sweet to me.
I went for a walk with my rucksack yesterday but got foiled 20 minutes into it by about 20 cows + 1 angry looking bull. he got up and was givin me the evils when i got within 50 feet so I just legged it back to the nearest stile and headed home! need to find a better route...
When doing BFT at my local running track I ALWAYS do it in 9.02 but when running against other people I do it in 8.16.. Weird.. Hopefuly at selection I will get below 8.16. Just run it as if it was a race and only 1st place wins..
And also The Parachute Regiment is now 9.40 not 9.18.
I tend to only do a 1.5 miler every other week as it takes a lot out of you and makes the rest of the training week harder. I realise that I will do more than 1 a fortnight when im in but for now I stick to a couple of 3 milers over the hills I live by and they are pretty steep so keeps me working hard. I also do a 6 mile run once a week to keep the endurance up.
I basically try to do all my running over hilly rough (ish) terrain as if you can do it quickly on that then road running feels like a breeze.
