4 Yorks (Endcliffe Vale Road)
Your best option with the TA
You will need to be reasonably fit
Given that you have expressed an interest in infantry, I would suggest you call 4 Yorks on 01226 200116. They are a good outfit and have had loads of blokes on operations. Nothing against the Rifles, but the nearest Rifles det is in Doncaster.
Go for it, and good luck.

You reckon Barnsley is a good option? I agree but my protein will still be all over the drill hall.

i may be slightly retarded but I still didnt get that even after reading it 3 times.
I am not going nowhere near a army suitability weekend or anything to do with the army until I've sorted my fitness out. Don't take pleasure in not being prepared for things and struggling through what are viewed upon as "basic tasks". I set a pace for the 1.5 mile at 10.5 mins and managed 1.6km before I felt my heart literally about to explode. If it wasnt for being seriously scared of the chest pains turning into a full blown heart attack I might have made it. Losing 3 stone should help.
What happens if you actually fail the selection weekend for the TA. How long do you have to wait before trying again?
