There is a shortage of Majors.

A higher than average number of PVR's (Capt & Maj) have created gaps within the Maj/SO2 bracket. Combine this with the additional appointments created by 2 double-medium operations and you'll begin to get the picture. Also, the 'air-gap' created by the ATOS/LTOS split has exacerbated the problem.

Good luck to those who run to the Beige List this year.
A mucker working in the APC tells me that the shortage of Majs is now impinging on promotion to Lt Col. Basically a promotion from the Reserve List now has to be fought for as the priority within MS(B) is to fill SO2 slots.

Isn't is a bit of a worry that the R SIGNALS have 22 out of 25 LEs getting promoted who are already A/Majors?

Probably another good indication that we are overstreched and holding gapped posts!

Hey, speaking for my mob, we need a little more than 17 DEs to fill the slots.
