Although there are other accom projects that have been put on hold until a firm decision has been made by the CoC as to the future of Munster/Osnabruck Garrison.

The real question is, if barracks are to be handed back to the Bundeswehr, will the MoD have to foot the bill to ensure all buildings are up to a reqd standard for handover?

Whatever happens Osnabruck / Munster it will remain 'fit for purpose'. Troops and their families will still have to live in the place right up until the bitter end. However, I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for any NEW investment (so that's the new 100m pool done for.....).

New Comd 19 Bde is a top bloke and destined for bigger and better things. Rumour is he got 19 Bde because, having been COS 3XX, he knew all the issues and where the CoC wanted the focus to be. I would happily serve under him but in my experience it is the COS/DCOS that can be the problem.

Not specifically in this case but SO3/SO2 level you inevitably work to COS/DCOS rather than the Comd. A good Comd can still have a nightmare COS who will have his sights firmly set on the PL and may not care what he has to do to get it.

And any good Comd will see straight through that and trip him up as he thinks his nose is across the line.

Rest assured you are fine with COS 19 Bde. He's a good lad, top of his job, and the next DCOS will be announced on Mar 22 when Black Bag 06 comes out. He will either be a Returner fm RD or fm ACSC 9. Neither is perilously close to the PL, merely focused on TELIC 9 I should suspect.
Shift the risk..pay later not now. Bring me efficiencies!

It certainly is not bad, robust maybe, but not bad.

    Outstanding,

After reading a few of your (all too plenty) posts, I wonder whether or not you have ever served in military uniform. Robust leadership is exactly what is required at all levels and completely distinct from bullying. A good leader shouldn't care less whether he is liked or not, as long as he is respected. There is a huge difference.

    Big Mac and fries, please.
