That would be the quickest way of getting knocked out, agreed. Gerrard's the only one in midfield who actually looks like a professional footballer and he's been head and shoulders above any other player in England's team so far.

you're absolutely off your head on drugs. are you watching the same tournament as me?

across the first three games, he has been our best player by a country mile. he has provided an assist in every game and is joint leader in the tournament, with 3 out of our 5 goals coming from gerrard passes. he has been immense at times, breaking up attacks and appearing all over the pitch - not to mention coming to the forefront as a leader.

our best player in the tournament so far, in my opinion - and a clear candidate for the Euro 2012 XI.

To reiterate, an even game vs Ukraine. Now England have to play a side with flair, class, ability to take their chances, they are going to get found out. Any one who believes the pap that the talking heads come out with is deluding themselves; England stumbled unconvincingly through three games in arguably the weakest group.
......and won the group by 3 clear points. Scored every game. Had substitutes that added rather than be second best.

keep the doom going. I'm enjoying it

Roy is doing a decent job. Not hearing much clammer for the illiterate cockney spiv on my radio.........

England have done well by being the under dog with people not expecting to lift the trophy just by turning up. This has dropped the pressure from the team that the media place on them. The players are actually getting the chance to actually enjoy their game and this is bringing the results.

Keep that pressure off them and they may just be the surprise team of the competition.

Once the press get a sniff that they have a chance they will go overboard, again, and they will implode, again.
