Did my first ParkRun at Eastleigh today....Yaaaay PB ! .....it's simple...it works....

about 200 people steaming and blowing over the frozen grass of the Wide Lane playing fields..friendly,well-organised and free......I enjoyed it so much I went straight home and had a big FatBoy breakfast and a pint of coffee.....to save aggro if I come out to play again I'll give them my Mobile number to get the result texted - which is a good service.

    on,on !

Glad you enjoyed them. I hope you've joined your local running club - PM if you want to know about Soton Athletics Club.

She needs a tartan skirt and UK Subs T shirt for the grim!
There's no point in asking you'll get no reply

Who is this THEM of whom you speak - and since 2000 I've been debating joining a proper club ( and perhaps becoming a 'proper' runner too) ......had a look around and still haven't grasped the nettle ...there are 3 clubs nearer to me than Soton AC to be honest - and a nice lady from Lordshill RC propositioned me at Wide Lane only last week ....if I bite the bullet I'll PM you ...meanwhile the Wednesday night run at David Lloyd is looking a good way fwd.

    Romsey 5 ?

ah, I presumed it was the start of a glorious relationship with the parkruns ;)

Lordshill run in much the same place as us, around the sports centre.

    Apparently it's all the vogue.

BBC News - From marathons to mud running

    Middle pic looks familiar.
It's Tommy this an' Tommy that
an' "Chuck 'im out the brute",
But it's "Saviour of 'is Country,
when the guns begin to shoot.
    R Kipling

Random Strawb 'So what do you do for a living?'
    Pararegtom 'I'm a milkman.'
Smudge67er 'Yes, he milks men for a living.'

There are a few regular faces each year. I believe BOS is striding out this year too!
