Goodbye Mooro and Butler!
The BBC have finally seen the light and will not be renewing Brian Moore or Eddie Butler's contracts at the end of the season. Instead they will be replaced by this character, who was available to commentate on the Calcutta cup via the interactive "red button":
He apparently knows more about rugby than the former commentators, is Scots-friendly, unlike Moore and unbiased when faced by Wales, unlike Butler. Children like him and he has a relaxed manner front of camera, having peed on a script before now. He is not afraid to call a spade a spade and like butler, he too has a pet vegetable - his is a pot plant called Gary, rather than a former hooker who talks spheroids.
So there you have it, I give you...Hacker T Dog, bill McLaren will be smiling down on Hawick tonight!
