Hi there,

Just thought I'd start a thread for those ARRSEr's who are also oarsmen to chat about the sport. So to get the ball rolling, let me introduce myself: I have only been rowing for about 18 months, and only seriously for the last 6 or so. I'm hoping to qualify for my region (east midlands) at the next round of trials next month, and later hope to take my rowing to university level.

so thats me, what about you lot?

I did indeed and won £350 by betting on Cambridge at 11/4.

Just substitute it for Greek Bloke or similar. You'll get used to it

Aye. Oxford really needed choppier water to make their power count. Seemed to lose a bit of heart near the end too.

Seems to me that Oxford set off too quickly, and were unable to keep their rate up- it looked like Cambridge were able to hold their rate better, and then pulled away towards the end.

tried to put £10 on when cambridge were losing at 7/1.....bloody williamhill.com wouldnt let me until the odds dropped to 10/11........my £80 became £19....fcuckers!!

More to the point. I would quite like to row but whenever i touch the rowing machine at the gym it makes me want to die!!
