Rugby: THAT Game BBCi 5/12
The Game, That Game;
The Barbarians v The All Blacks 1973
Probably the best game of rugby ever recorded, is on BBC Interactive on Saturday Morning as a warm up for BaBas v Kiwis '09.
A terrific game which includes what would be my vote for one of the best trys of all time as well.
According to John Inverdale it is being shown 'Live', which could be interesting!!
If you don't have a copy already set your recorders!Warning & disclosure: Journalist.

Thankfully for everyone else but JPR the game went on after the first. The second one becomes yellow cardable in the modern game after the over pernickity ref spends 10 minutes repeatedly warning the captains before actually acting. :D

Re: Rugby: THAT Game BBCi 5/12
So thats a try
I had heard these things mentioned during the State Sponsered Six NationsWe should remember the tremendous contribution of the Queen Mother to the war effort:
As the BBC pointed out, she 'bravely remained in London beside her husband' during the war.
This contrasts sharply with the actions of my grandfather who, on the declaration of war immediately left his wife and children and pissed off, first to France, then North Africa, Italy, France (again) and finally Germany.
The shame will always be with us.

Barry John never lived that match down, because he packed it in the year before LOL Still crys in his beer about not being able to say "I was there"
And to think, I had no Idea I could bring so much fun and frivolity to others

I have it on VHS, but no player. One of the greatest matches of all time.
When the Welsh had the best team they ever had.

Re: Rugby: THAT Game BBCi 5/12
That was when the amateur greats had time to run out for the Baa-baa's, there was some serious getting to know each other in the mauls/rucks and the only hairless fellow was the Kiwi scrum half.
It was also a time I thought Wales were an amazing team so sometimes it's a good thing time moves on.The term bugle originates from the French word bugleret, which was derived from the Latin buculus, meaning young bull.
