I really used to push the boat out for the San Marino GP. I'd wear a caved in, smashed helmet, a set of blood stained Williams coveralls and sit there like I'd had a stroke. Used to really freak the fuck out of the doris.

I'm thinking of getting a 1:1 scale model MP4/4 in my room, would look great infront of the TV. Not sure how i'll get it in though.

I very nearly purchased a 1/6 scale R/C model of a Williams FW14B. It had a massive petrol engine and a full race spec chassis with all the scale suspension, sterring and aerodynamics. A hand made one off by the shop owner. It was in the window of a great model shop down the back streets in Gutersloh. Cost about DM3500 at the time (199 and was seriously considering buying it. When I mentioned it to the missus, she instructed me that if I did buy it, I'd find it hard pissing out of a tube. Kill joy.

Formula One racing’s governing body, the FIA, has approved a change to the points systems for this year’s drivers’ championship, which will see the title awarded to the driver with the most race wins. The rest of the standings, from second to last place, will be decided by the current points system.

If two or more drivers finish the season with the same number of wins, the title will be awarded to the driver with the most points, the allocation of points being based on the existing 10, 8, 6 etc. structure. The constructors’ championship is unaffected.

The FIA’s World Motor Sport Council accepted the proposal for the new system from Formula One Management at a meeting in Paris on Tuesday. An alternative proposal to change the points awarded to drivers finishing in first, second and third place to 12, 9 and 7 points respectively was rejected.

The F1 season begins next friday with practice being aired on the BBC red button, your first chance to see the look and pace of the new cars.
For those who havent kept up to date with testing, they maybe shocked by how close/distant this years competitors are.

It looks like Macca have finished sandbagging and are back on the pace after changing nearly every part of the car, so much so it should now be called the MP4/25.

Now the boring shite is over, let the racing begin. :D
