Discuss SA Police do Bloody Thursday with Automatic Rifles, on Automatic in Southern Africa on The Army Rumour Service; Especially ironic that if you used the word "nigger" most saffers would have to take a minute and work out wtf you are talking about - the correct terminology would be Affs, locals, munts, toeys ...

Excuse if you're a non South African citizen then how on earth do you go around calling yourself "Bokka" - I mean if you had spent 10 years in Dhubai you'd hardly be calling yourself Abdul Abulbul Abeer now would you - you'd be an expat which is exactly what you are there.

And again bullshit - I had a British and South African passport was born in Durban, grew up in Rhodesia, had a Rhodie passport to make going on holiday easier.

Now I don't mind that you're another waare soutpiel who decided to move to Safferland - good luck to you but if you're going to praat kak then expect to be corrected.

I may have moved here but we have had family out here for a very long time. There are bits of them buried in and around Simonstown, some are buried in Bloemfontein (I have a degree from the University of the Free State!) and we even have a town named after us. So over 150 years of connections over here. Perhaps you need to check your soutpiel status

But I also find it ironic that you can see the irony in my posts, thanks.

Dry books of tactics are beneath the notice of a man of genius, and it is a known fact that every British officer is inspired with a perfect knowledge of his duty, the moment he gets his commission; and if it were not, it would be sufficiently acquired in conversaziones at the main-guard or the grand sutler's.

Apparently some moderators take themselves very, very seriously, and cannot abide posts such as:
"If however you offer to moderate you may be a sanctimonious, unfunny pissflap to your heart's content."

Some comments are allegedly "very very nasty and uncalled for."

There are as many reasons for staying or leaving as there are people who have done so, and they are all equally valid to the person concerned.
Not once throughout this thread have I judged anyone for staying or moving to SA. Please reread my posts carefully before making any kind of assumption, especially one like that!

I didn't say that you did, I was just warning against it, both to you and people in general. There are others in this thread I should have probably directed it at more than you. I still think it's a valid point. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

By a lot of peoples' definitions, so would you be! Not mine of course...

Sixth generation Saffer. Pretty much stuck here without the convenient safety net of a foreign passport, unless I wash up on Cottesloe beach in a leaky boat when it all turns to rat shit. What the hell, pretty much every jihadi with the air fare in the Middle East and plenty of Tamils are doing it. Don't see Oz telling them to fuck off.
