    I think it's
    1)AK-47, 2)AKM, 3)AK-74, 4)AK-74M. 5) AK-12

There's so many types of Kalashnikov, I get lost.

I like the part which says: "The AK-12 has classic configuration, which creates a constructively simple automatic rifle with an option to mount powerful muzzles and large magazines"

Does it have a Picatinny rail on to which you can strap a Rottweiler?

I fucked your country and became very rich. What are you going to do about it?

Yes there are umpteen variations but all on the same three themes. For example as far as I can see: AK-74M and AK12 are just modified AK74s.

I thought all the 74's were pressed receivers. Which would make 5 gens:

    AK47 (7.62x39, milled)
    AKM (7.62x39, pressed)
    AK74 (5.45x39, pressed)
    AK100-series (7.62x39, 5.45x39, 5.56x45, pressed)
    Ak-12

Does this mean that bullpups have enough disadvantages to justify staying with ... er ... what's the standard term for the alternative layout? Traditional? Conventional? Long stock? Forward mechanism? It's not as if nobody has made a bullpup Kalashnikov, either:

Izhmash is doing pretty good after their huge success selling us the SAIGA rifles and shotguns that come into this country in a sporting configuration for legal reasons and then can easily and legally be made into their original configuration with US made parts.

I love my saiga 12! Ugly but goes bang all the time!

Sure hope they figure out how to import them in a sporting configuration.
