    Jesus 6k for an L96?

I'll build you one for less than that.

    Get the M24.

Edited to add: I won't actually build you one, I'm far too busy flogging stuff covered in gold to Russians at the moment.
One cannot begin to fathom the immensity of the fuck I do not give.

This is the XM2010, the future M24. My first impression is that it's a bolt action wanna be Dragunov.........Waltunov perhaps

.........I suspect that after first contact with a cam net I'd be swinging it like a club and looking for the designer!
    Chavs, hoodies and celts.......

I find it astonishing that they've kept the actual M24 receivers to build brand-new rifles on, and inserted a new receiver into the M24s that they're selling off. Wonder what the point of that was? It can't have been much of a cost saving, given the new receiver and the extensive work required to rebuild each M24.

    More money than sense probably?

    Seems a pointless exercise.

probably to save on all the admin costs of disposing of 'the weapon' (the reciever with the SN) out of the system and buying 'new weapons' and getting them into the system...... legally, if you replace all but the reciever its still the same rifle. the cost, time and effort on paper work was more than just 'refurbing' the existing recievers.

That way they get to keep the same serial numbers and the lazy QM type shiny arses don't have to update their registers!

I suspect it's all about budgets. New aquisitions might need to be agreed at high level, by congress, or by the board of McDonalds, refurbishment and modification can be authorised by some little bloke called Brian who issues the car passes in the Pentagon celler.

You can get the M-24 over here for around 3K usd for the real deal coming out of the Mil / custom shop.

The rebuilt rifles will keep their receivers and make them more of a collectable. They will also come with all the accessories that were issued with the rifle originally. This will make it even more sought after.

I'm happy to see that they are offering them to the people who used them. You may even be able to get your own rifle back!

I wasn't aware they were offering this. Thanks for sharing!
