Frankly, if you want a "shooting" Bess, then get a Petersoli repro..

Brown Bess rifles for sale, historical Brown Bess rifles by Pedersoli.

The carbine is handy if you do not have a 6' gun box...!

An original Bess will set you back £1200++ and you should not really be shooting it unless you were very sure of it's origins.. (thank our American cousins for that one..!)

DO NOT buy any of the Indian made repros - they are utterly crap - OK for marching up & down as part of "lord Fauntelroys 42nd Regiment of Foote" or hanging on the pub wall (with the touchole welded up) but not for shooting with ball....

It is a H&K US Socom Mk. 23. Difficult to make out with these crap pics I admit. It comes with pre-threaded barrel and on the size of the silencer (
-moderator) bear in mind that we are talking military grade and .45 ACP calibre. Pretty much a standard size mod for pistols. Much smaller in diameter and they tend not to have much of an effect. It is surprisingly more quite and most ACP loads are subsonic, so it is a very good match IMO, the SOCOM guys got that bit right...

Who makes the mod/silencer for it?
