I can say the name of that railway station in Wales, as well.

    Comparing

Royal Air Force Pay Scales - Armed Forces -* RAF Officers Pay Rates - Other Ranks Pay Rates

    with

Army Pay Scales - Armed Forces - British Army Officers Pay Rates - Other Ranks Pay Rates

It would appear that Chief Techs are paid in line with Staffies and Flight Sergeants are paid in line with WO2s.

WO2s (OR8) and SSgts (OR7) are on the same pay scale. OR8 are paid at level 5 to 9. most OR7 (including RAF Chief Technicians) are capped at level 7 , the exceptions being Navy OR7s where there is no WO2 in their career progression, in which case, they will progress in due course to level 9, and RAF Flight Sgts, where List 2 Flt Sgts are paid at level 1 to 9 (same as Naval non-technical CPOs) and List 1 Flt Sgts are paid at level 5 to 9 (the same as WO2s).

No, because they don't hold a warrant.

As a Cpl I got paid more than most Lts, but that didn't mean I was technically senior...

But as a LCpl I was definitely senior to JTs! And got paid the same.

Ah, but if they were equivalent to a WO2, would they be entitled to be saluted?

ARRSE - Not as funny as it used to be since 2003.
