No offence taken - I'm just a little shaken that my contributions over the last forty pages or so have convinced you that I'm a rabid supporter of the man-made global warming position. I suspect you've shaken a few others too. :D

No, let's not. It was very interesting video about the illegally hacked emails and made some very good points.

Oh my aching ribs. Praise the Lord for the gift of laughter.

The IPCC has indeed sought clarity. Why not?

In The Interests Of Scientific Inquiry

Regarding this whole climate science emails thing, I can only see one of two explanations for what's going on here.

    1) That practically the entire planet's scientific, political, media and business classes have colluded in the greatest hoax ever perpetrated upon mankind, in the teeth of fierce opposition from some of the world's most powerful business interests, in pursuit of a secret, socialist scheme to do, er, something totalitarian or

    2) Lots of angry wingnuts are barking like a pack of pissed-off chihuahuas about bugger all, because they are angry wingnuts, and that's what angry wingnuts do.

I'm sure that's probably all you can see but the truth is that you've skipped the toughter bits (i.e. technically informed) of the debate on this thread, though both sides have set out a good case and fought it hard. You are, demonstrably, a one-eyed, left wing, nut job with an agenda to push and the likes of Shape deserve better than to have you on their side.

Because that explanation doesn't fit with either of your explanations of what's going on - unless the IPCC are wingnuts and chihuahuas.

A few pages ago you told us there was nothing to investigate as the science was cast iron and settled.

The Met Office is to re-examine all the historical climate data fro the last 160 years in the wake of the CRU email saga.
Of course, its going to take 3 years.....

However, the government is trying to prevent the Met Office doing so.

The IPCC believes the data needs re-examining
The Met Office believes the data needs re-examining

I'm pretty damned sure the data re-examining.

That's because you clearly have no concept of reality and need everything to be subject to hysterical, Eastenders-style extremes.

Most people who are sceptical of AGW don't agree with a "world-wide conspiracy" in the science. You can spot the ones that do by their shopping lists (they involve lots of Bacofoil).

On the other hand, I've never heard a sceptic (even the tinfoil variety) end a Newsnight interview by muttering "What an arrsehole"* about the other guy

Did I say "cast Iron"? I think you are dissembling.

The science is settled (not a scientific term). The scientific evidence is overwhelming. The IPCC seeks clarity over the illegally hacked emails. Why should it not?

It is showing the same good faith shown by Prof Jones.

I suppose the title of this thread is ironic then?
