The protect the "Environment movement at all costs" religion rely on Exaggerations, Distortion, Manipulation and in some cases just downright Lies to get the point across.

The majority of posters in this thread are simply asking for an independent and Peer review of the Data.
I resent the accusation of being a tree hugger. I despise most of humanity that I have met, and only hope that 98% of them are wiped out by famine, disease and war caused by climate change. I don't care about protecting the environment per say, it can take care of itself and I respect the way species respond to environmental pressure by adapting. I do think it's unfortunate to impose it on people who didn't have a hand in it though.

But I'll be first on the deck of the Rainbow 2 if the US/Russia/take-your-pick goes raping Antarctica, sodding the rest of the world and blatently putting money before anything else. That's just greedy and rude.

As I said before, who's independent for your 'review'? Nobody is, especially if you accuse the 'experts' of being charlatans. And I say again no where in this thread or the press has anyone accepted that some of the sceptics and their funding has made them produce outright lies in the past. If you want evidence of this, look at the history of Russia's environmental policy, or just google the likes of Fred Singer. And Governments and politicians are hardly neutral.

What should be advocated is for both sides to be put in a room together with alternate powerpoint assaults and at the end of it see who's left standing. I doubt they'll agree but it will be jolly entertaining.

Sometimes I do think the problem with those advocating change, is it's change their looking for. But then the same can be said on both sides.

Sorry, shape, I thought the "lies from some sceptics" was so obvious I didn't bother explicitly accepting it. Guess that goes to show how easily relevent information can be overlooked because of a personal POV ;)

As for your suggestion to solve it, could I suggest machetes instead of powerpoints? far more entertaining and would go some way to helping the population problem at the same time :D

Let's just get it right about Australia. It has always been anti-AGW except for the past 2-3 years.

Australia's experiencing the worst (longest and deepest) continental drought in living memory. But then as is so helpfully pointed out on this thread it was once at the North Pole and shit happens. Good luck to them.

    Re: Global Warming... a hoax?

I posted up the population growth problem earlier in the thread and can't be arrsed to go back and find the details. But the world population will be around 9.5 billion in 2025. Unless this is addressed, everything else is pi$$ing in the wind.

But of course it won't be, its not PC, better to self flagellate ourselves over driving cars and eating burgers.

Still on the up side, all the greenies will be up against the wall when the wars start over ever diminishing resources. We're struggling to sustain 6.5 billion, there's not nearely enough to go around for 9.5 billion. People are ultimately very selfish and when it comes down to it the strongest will prevail. Check a history book for examples.

Australia is a huge desert, check google earth, the drought is on the south eastern coast, and for Sydney revolves around one reservoir in the west of the city. It still rains a a lot there, but not in the right spot. Hardly scientific proof of a problem.

But the Aussies said fcuk it to recycling and additional reservoirs, they're going for a desalination plant on the coast.

I think you'll find circulation changes are the first indicators of a problem actually. They're pretty clear in the Southern Hemisphere where the orographic boundaries are minimal and the air is relatively 'clean'. The observed contraction of the circumpolar trough and the trend in the Southern Annular Mode mean precisely that precip falls in different places. Funnily enough it's also one of the predicted consequences of arrsing about with the poleward temperature gradient by long wave heating in the IR, such as by an increase in greenhouse gases.

But like I said in the last sentence, the Aussies said fcuk it lets go for a desalination plant, therby sideling the drought problem, after all they've the whole pacific ocean to use.

But thanks for your input, you are getting decidedly dull now with your look how clever I am posts. You're not convincing anyone and are starting to look like a bit of a pretentious tit.

No you're just another sven type who has registered a new account recently and is intent on arguing the toss to get a reaction. You gave yourself away on the computer models post. Why don't you jog on you dullard?

A response to the population point would be welcome though. It has been referred to repeatedly on several threads by several posters and no-one on the MMGW side of the debate has been able to say what their Government and NGO cheerleaders are proposing to do about it. You can build windmills and tax 4 x 4's all you want to, but if you don't solve that one Man-Made Global Warming will be the least of your worries.
