Ah, bigpod my friend, have a look around you, I think you lost something recently, it appears to be your sense of humour.

Fair do's; sorry. I did see the humour in the last post; I was a bit on the defence when I saw the "ignoring science" bit, as I don't think I do. But you did say generally rather than all, so I apologise.

And btw ha ha, the last post did amuse me.

Contrary to your assertion this can be disproven...trouble is you may not accept the evidence. There is a physical universe that is external to your thinking, care to try a few tests? Understanding this is not going to restrict leaps in knowledge in any way...nor does it stop one filtering fact from fiction.
Consider these quotes from Albert Einstein - the foremost of your scientists.

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand".

"Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods."

"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."

Nothing in the above indicates that delusions are ok and that they may be the product of truth..they are just aberrations in the mind. Nor in any way do such quotations alter the points that I made. Imagination used in the correct way has helped with many great discoveries. This is possible by observation and thinking about external information. Your problem is not being able to connect with external reality. The last quotation is also complete bollocks.

Religion has been a successful meme because it has always insisted that followers "have faith" rather than presenting people with falsifiable evidence (because there isn't any). Fortunately for religion, most people are either too thick, gullible or have been sufficiently brainwashed from birth to fall for it.

    Most people.

I'm not laughing. I've just started an entire religion based on that post.

    You're backpeddling.

And the message of yours that I have quoted above? The middle Einstein quote - "Whoever sets himself up as etc. etc"

We can talk about delusions if you wish. Or we can talk about religion. Or we can talk about god. For the sake of intelligent conversation, we ahouldnt conflate the three.

Me back pedal?...you really have not been paying attention!

You have an irrational mind... By conflating a couple of quotations to suggest that your delusions may actually be onto something. Whoever sets himself up to ...blah blah. The notion that knowledge or truth is in some way a problem is absurd. Do you know anything?...is anything that you know true?

I'll leave you with the problem... I have no such problems in finding that religions are mythical nonsense. And your ideas are without substance. Delusions, religions and gods are synonymous...take your pick, they all lead to the same conclusion. Mind junk!
