I doubt it, but do not know for certain.

As far as the 144,000 thing goes, there is a "kingdom hall" in the village too, which is the group that holds this belief. They do not share with the "mainstream churches" in any way, and to my mind are not a good example of Christianity, but I would not be in conflict with them in any way.
sure. but the important word in this is "toleration" not "God".

If you have an idle moment to spare sometime, you might, or might not, like to ask yourself the following questions:

Is Higgs_bosun consistent in this type of message?
Does Higgs_bosun tend to make negative reference to religion even when nobody else has brought up the subject (eg, on science-related threads)
Does it vary with the nature of the forum (eg, NAAFI v Intelligence)
If Higgs_bosun were to make anti-semitic or other racist comments using the same kind of tone and content, how probable would you think it that he was a racist who meant what he said?
Is Higgs_bosun a sock-puppet for the Bishop of Durham having a wah? Are wahs normally as persistent as Higgs_bosun is making this one?

I'm sure you can think of even better questions with which you can test whichever null hypothesis you want to consider ...

There are billions of mindless religious people, and billions of mindless Atheists, and billions of mindless Agnostics.

If your faith position is not thought through you will fit the category. I think I have enough life and work experience, academic qualifications and common sense to say my faith is not mindless. Of course, it is EVIDENCELESS outside my own experience, which is where you (H-B) cannot accept it. I feel it is important enough that I wish to share my experience with others, hoping they will in turn experience this for themselves. I do NOT want anyone to loose faith in the wonders of science we see all around us, nor persecute anyone of differing faith.

Sadly, despite being an ordained minister, I find it difficult to think how to explain my experiences here, and am certain I could not do it in a way that would be helpful to the discussion. I satisfy myself that I am able to demonstrate care and compassion to many hundreds of people each week by treating them in ways our modern, enlightened, increasingly atheistic world very pointedly fails to do.
I have had those experiences during my brief exposure to religion so understand them all. Luckily it became apparent that it was psychology at work and not a holy spirit. Those that are mindless are beyond the self analytical point and unable to break the spell of delusion, a permanent state of hypnosis...zombie like, trapped in their particular cult. Why are you not a muslim? See...

However, membership of this or that church could only serve to aggravate differences... arent some of the churches in the USA into having 144,000 saved.. all else are doomed , no matter how good to their fellow man they might be.
A great observation Paddy... religions have ruined any chance of us living together in peace. Also note that the greatest living philanthropists on Earth are actually atheists...

Thanks GD...Fry nailed em...sadly the spell of religious delusion repels rationality and all those with faith will have retreated into their comfort cocoons and covered their ears. The sickness goes on...
