Mr. Chard Sir! Patrol has come back, Zulus have gone, all of 'em. It's a miracle! If it's a miracle Colour Sergeant, it's a short chamber Boxer Henry, point 45 caliber miracle. And a bayonet Sir! With some guts behind it!

I have just had 2 minutes silence followed by a large Scotch accompanied by my sister in Canada, who is Sgt At Arms of the Souke branch, Royal Canadian Legion. We were communicating by Skype. It was 1100 hours on 11 Nov. 2011, here in Laos.

And I would like to record my thanks to one Lcpl Vic Grecki, formerly of 2 AES around 1970 - 73. for his comradeship and his unflinching courage in executing his duties.

Vic had a very distinguished career "elsewhere" and is not recorded as having been a Sapper. He died of illness in Copenhagen a few years ago. RIP a very brave man.

Tragically Noel Cashford, who instigated the Norfolk BD memorial, passed away earlier this year.

Sapper Elijah Bond of 37 Armoured Engineer Squadron - 35 Engineer Regiment.

Died in the UK yesterday, from injuries sustained on Op Herrick Afghanistan.

    RIP
I hope all the politicians who were depressed and stressed because they got caught fiddling expenses are feeling better after their 3 months off.

I bet the lads in Afghanistan were worried sick about them.
