Re: BEST AND WORST REGIMENTS
Best Sqn i had the pleasure to serve would have to be 33 Ind Fd Sqn closely followed by 52 Fd Sqn Pre permanent Bruggen days.

Redmist.
All right there mate (yes, I do know exactly who you are). As for worst OCs, then you should have seen the gay bar loitering, shirt lifting, s**t stabber 58 had from 92-95ish. M******* I know you are still out there down-loading images of little boys having a p**s, praying that the adverts for nappies actually show you some poor sprogs tackle. He was actually odds-on favourite to be the next one killed by the gay serial killer that was stalking around the Medway towns before the police caught him. The only (alleged) man to serve in the army and say that he thinks there is room for gays in the army. The last I heard he went back to some weener staff job as a Lt Col and still has some involvment with the sailing team. All those fit men with their bulging muscles, I'm surprised he doesn't cream himself at the mere thought. ******** YOU ARE A FAGGOT AND HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PLACE ON THIS PLANET NEVER MIND IN THE ARMED FORCES. I HOPE YOU CHOKE TO DEATH ON SOME OTHER FAGGOT'S C**K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel so much better after typing that. There are no problems in life that cannot be overcome with the adequate application of High Explosives.

The worst posting ever?
ok so i'm down at 26 and i hear that it has the highest signing off rate in the army. coupled with the fact that i really want to get into my swimming and i'm sure theres nothing down there for that. what can i do? i'm at chatham at the moment and dont finish here till march. was thinking about asking for a change of posting to somewhere with an awesome swim team. i wanna be swimming for at least the corps soon!!

Re: The worst posting ever?
When I was first in Chatham doing my A2 course (circa 1996), I was told by the civvie Chief Clerk there that i was going back to Ripon and that was final. I asked to see a squadron officer and was directed reluctantly by the said fat civvie to the Sqn 2i/c, an LE officer to whom I pleaded my case (something along the lines of having made a complete balls-up at Ripon and needing to make a fresh start, with a bit of 'desire to serve in the armoured role and go to Bosnia' thrown in for good measure). Lo and behold, a week later my posting was changed to 35 in Hameln and I lived happily ever after. I was told by more than one person that getting a posting changed in this way at Chatham is a once-in-a-blue-moon occurance but the above story does show that it is at least possible.
I'd advise you to research the unit you want to go to, provide some solid reasons (military as well as your swimming) and steer well clear of any story that sounds like whining or wanting to be near mum. Then it's in the hands of the gods. I do sympathise with you mate so good luck!
BTW, you're not from Crewe by any chance are you?

Re: The worst posting ever?
There is a swimming pool in Andover. But if you are a Corps level swimmer get in touch with the swimming officer at where ever it is you want to go. 28 and 32 had good swimming/water polo teams recently (and Hohne has 2 pools)

Re: The worst posting ever?
Or 22 regt in the late 80's early 90's ... anyone remeber the C.O. then ..
lt. Col. DZ...... what a f*cking bampot. ... all JNCO's had to carry a 20 minute lesson in their top pocket at all times and he'd "pull over" squads of men and make a lance jack give his lesson to the troop and him.
active edge call outs !!! .... to sidbury hill .... in case 3rd shock army managed to sneak over on a ferry without anyone noticing.
and a general level of pointless bullsh1t designed to sap the very marrow from your bones.
couple this with the worst location in the world and you've got all the ingredients for a PVR rate second to none. You're on thin f-ucking ice my pedigree chums, and I shall be under it when it breaks. Now, f-uck off.

Wedge you must be the only person in the Corps who did not want to go to Ripon. Normally the problem is trying to get people out of there!
