i just mentioned that in the roll of honour thread.
thoughts go out to their family & friends today.
R.I.P.Mr. Chard Sir! Patrol has come back, Zulus have gone, all of 'em. It's a miracle! If it's a miracle Colour Sergeant, it's a short chamber Boxer Henry, point 45 caliber miracle. And a bayonet Sir! With some guts behind it!

I was in London with another Arrser the day of Patrck's funeral and we watched from outside. A day to remember.
And hence one master passion in the breast, like Aaron's serpent swallows up the rest.

Here in Birmingham, we have a hall of memory that has a book on permanent display listing the names and details of all Birmingham soldiers who have died on ops since 1945. The last name in the book is Mark Quinsey's.

I have been thinking about those two poor young chaps all of today and every day of the passing year. Its a beautiful day today, those boys should be out there living it.
Good to read that the Catholic Church today recognised this sad anniversary.
R.I.P boys, no doubt they are.
